Description Taft Junior College was established on August 30, 1922 as part of the Taft Union High School District.
Classes were first held on the high school campus.
The school title officially became Taft College on July 1, 1954, and in September of 1956 a separate campus opened in the current location at 29 Cougar Court adjacent to the high school.
The West Kern Community College District was later formed, and is a single-college-district under the guidance of a five-member Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities:
Help set-up and clean up all cougar support activities Coordinate and assist with outreach efforts for support services connected to basic needs Maintain cleanliness of the Cougar Support Center Attend job related training and committee meetings Assist with student case files Organize peer-to-peer support groups Front desk support in the Student Center and/or Cougar Support Center Clerical work as directed Organize and manage food and clothing pantry Inventory Checks Serve students requesting items out of the cougar support center Stay up-to-date on new legislation and mandates associated with basic needs Assist with data collection Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 units, in good standing, with Taft College.
Students must remain enrolled and in good standing during employment.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
